About The Sons of Twisted Fate

With much of the world in isolation, support for mental health is more important than ever. Realising this, in 2019 a number of established like-minded authors turned their skills to raising funds by creating a collection of short stories, to support charity.

The initial collection was published on World Mental Health Day – 10th October 2020 – on the theme of Darkness. For this endeavour we are The Sons of Twisted Fate. These are all stories in the genre of Speculative fiction (Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy).
All Profits go to the mental health charity MIND.

We are extremely grateful to the authors that have contributed work to this anthology and especially grateful to Richard Rowan for kindly providing such an awesome cover image.

Please join us in celebrating a fantastic collection in aid of such a worthy cause.

A lifelong fan of supernatural horror and fantasy, Nick spends his days prowling the darker side of fiction, often to the scream of heavy metal guitars and the purrs of his feline companions. Werewolves are his speciality but only the monstrous kind – you won’t find any tame puppies in this author’s works!

Fate set him on the path of the writer at the tender age of 15. The journey has been much longer and harder than his teenage self ever anticipated, but 17 years later he is still forging ahead.

Nick is best known for his Hybrid series. He has also had short stories published in various anthologies, and will soon be releasing his first non-Hybrid novel based on the true story of the Pendle witches.

Owen Townend is a Yorkshire-born, Yorkshire-bred writer who is strong in the arm but only due to excessive typing. Once he has cleared the truly terrible puns from his head, he writes short speculative fiction, some of which has been published in books like Liberty Tales by Arachne Press and Circling the County by the Huddersfield Authors’ Circle.

Owen did his book-learnin’ at Sheffield Hallam University and now humbly claims the title of Master Bachelor of All Arts, whatever that even means. In recent years, he has become an avid collector of writing group memberships within the West Yorkshire area. He is currently working on his first Western novellas but the Stetson keeps getting in the way of his  keyboard.
